This picture of a class 66 in Ayrshire heading south towards Carlisle pictures some of the spectacular scenery found on this route.
The route from Carlisle to Glasgow via Dumfries and Kilmarnock connects 2 large urban cities to some very rural and quiet towns. This route would be from Glasgow Central through to Carlisle taking the route through Kilmarnock, New Cumnock, and Dumfries before going past Gretna Junction and joining the West Coast Mainline into Carlisle. This route would be a very good route to create in train simulator as the scenery on the route is spectacular. For example between Annan and Gretna you have a clear view of the coast and some large rolling hills in the distance.
This route would be a great combination with the class 156 and class 66 trains as they are used very frequently on this line. The line would have a lot of stations and could (if possible) also have the branch from Glasgow Central to Ayr and eventually Stranraer. I live near Dumfries and when riding this route I always think the scenery is spectacular and would love to see this route implemented in the game.
