Route Proposals: Eurostar Network

The Eurostar Logo

Eurostar is a railway company, created in the 1990s. It opened with services between London and Paris, using the amazing Channel Tunnel. Over the years, it has influenced upgrades and new railway lines, including Britain's first real high speed line (HS1).

Now it has quite a large railway network. Here is a list of the frequent services today:

- London to Paris (with Ebbsfleet and Ashford stops)

- London to Brussels (with Calais and Lille stops)

- London to Disneyland Paris

- NEW: London to Marseille (with Lyon and Avignon stops)

In addition, Eurostar operates a seasonal winter service:

- London to Bourg-St-Maurice (with Moutiers and Aime-la-Plagne stops)

And this network is still growing!

Now wouldn't it be great to drive a high speed train at full speed through the Kent countryside and then inside a famous deep tunnel?

Eurostar has also some new rolling stock which would look great on TS2015!

These new trains can travel at up to 320 km/h (200 mph) as opposed to the previous trains which could travel at 300 km/h (186 mph).

I do understand, and we all do, that Dovetail games cannot have a huge route, but who says we cannot split it in multiple parts? So far, the London to Ebbsfleet section is already built with the London to Faversham route. In addition, many bits of rolling stock will need to be added like the Thalys, TGV, and the RER regional services near Paris. However, I thought that having a route branch to Disneyland Paris on TS2015 would be a tremendous idea as many people love that place and it would be interesting to see a theme park as a prime destination on a train simulator:

Therefore, this is what I propose:

- London to Lille Europe (Phase 1)

- Lille Europe to Paris, with Disneyland Branch (Phase 2)

- Lille Europe to Brussels (Phase 3)

The rest would need to be in another route type, as they are more TGV routes, going down to Lyon and Marseille.

This route will be extremely interesting and will certainly not take up too much room as it's mostly in the countryside or in the Channel Tunnel. Yet the driving is very complex. The train drivers that get paid the most are Eurostar drivers due to the complexity of the train driving. They need to know several types of signalling and need to change the pantographs when switching lines.

I believe this route will be amazing, successful and challenging to many people.
